  • How is the Audio Thunder classified as 5.1?
  • The Audio Thunder has front, rear, center and subwoofer speakers built into the ears. This allows for a true 5.1 audio experience.
  • What are the system requirements for the Audio Thunder?
  • The Audio Thunder EX Sound Station requires a Pentium III, 128MB RAM, and Windows 2000 or XP. The Audio Thunder will work on other systems, but without the use of the software.
  • What does the EX Sound Station software do?
  • EX Sound Station lets you select more control over the bass, effects, loudness, a speaker test, and virtual 5.1 sound. Installing the software gives you greater control and sound from the Audio Thunder.
  • Will I get 5.1 Sound from any application?
  • To achieve true 5.1 sound, the application you are running must support it. For example, if you are playing a game that only support 2.1 sound, then you will only get 2.1 sound from the Audio Thunder. Or, if you are watching a DVD that has 5.1 sound with the DVD playback software that supports 5.1 sound, then you will hear the true 5.1 sound. If your application does not support 5.1 sound, then you can use the EX Sound Station to give it a virtual 5.1 sound effect.
  • Does the Audio Thunder require a 5.1 sound card, or any sound card?
  • No. The Audio Thunder uses a USB channel audio box that takes the place of a sound card. It attaches to your USB port on the computer, and the headphones then attach to the audio box.
  • Can I plug a RCA cable into the audio box?
  • No. The audio box is strictly for the Audio Thunder, and there is no RCA jack.
  • Do I really have to disable my onboard audio and/or uninstall my exisiting audio software?
  • No. However, the EXSOUND or Audio Thunder may conflict with your exisiting on-board sound or audio software. This is because some software or hardware is designed to only allow itself be used by Windows. The Audio Thunder is not designed that way.

  • Uninstall existing audio software. Some existing audio software, such as the software that comes with the Creative Sound Blaster series, may interfere and prohibit the Audio Thunder from working. Try uninstalling this software first if you are having problems.
  • Disable the AC'97 on the motherboard. If your motherboard has a built-in AC'97 audio device, you may experience conflicts. Try to disable this first in your computers BIOS.
  • Test with other applications. Test the Audio Thunder with other applications. If one application is not working for you, check a different application. It may be the application has an incompatibility with the Audio Thunder.
  • Check your application settings. Some games or DVD playback software require you to select the 5.1 sound from within their software, otherwise it will play as stereo. Also, some software requires you to purchase the additional functionality for 5.1 sound. Check your application to make sure it supports 5.1.
  • Check your microphone volume. If you get a lot of feedback or extra noise while using the Audio Thunder, or if others tell you they get feedback or noise from you while you use the microphone, check the microphone settings. Adjust this to a level where the volume reduces the noise. If you are not using the microphone, check the "mute" box in the microphone settings.
