  • How is the AXPC classified as 5.1?
  • The AXPC has front, rear, center and subwoofer speakers built into the ears. This allows for a true 5.1 audio experience.
  • What are the system requirements for the AXPC?
  • The AXPC Headsets requires a Pentium III, 128MB RAM, and Windows 2000 or XP. The AXPC will work on other systems, but without the use of the software.
  • What does the AXPC software do?
  • The AXPC software lets you select more control over the bass, effects, loudness, a speaker test, and virtual 5.1 sound. Installing the software gives you greater control and sound from the AXPC.
  • Will I get 5.1 Sound from any application?
  • To achieve true 5.1 sound, the application you are running must support it. For example, if you are playing a game that only support 2.1 sound, then you will only get 2.1 sound from the AXPC. Or, if you are watching a DVD that has 5.1 sound with the DVD playback software that supports 5.1 sound, then you will hear the true 5.1 sound. If your application does not support 5.1 sound, then you can use the AXPC software to give it a virtual 5.1 sound effect.
  • Does the AXPC require a 5.1 sound card, or any sound card?
  • No. The AXPC uses a USB channel audio box that takes the place of a sound card. It attaches to your USB port on the computer, and the headphones then attach to the audio box.

  • The headsets play great, however I cannot get the microphone to work. Ensure that you have installed our drivers, as it is required to use the microphone. Also ensure that under both the control panel sound settings, and also the C-media control panel, that the correct microphone is selected as your recording device. Further, some USB devices, when used with specific motherboards can cause a "Low Power" state with the headset. This causes either the Microphone, or the headset to stop working. You can remidy this by taking care of the low-power state. You can do this by adding a Powered USB hub, and plugging your offending device in to the hub. The G15 keyboard, Eclipse keyboard, and G7 mice have been reported to be such devices. This happens most frequently on Asus motherboards.
  • I installed the headphones, however the sound quality is not what I expected. Ensure that you have installed the driver that came with the AXPC, and that you have selected 6 channel output. It is best to test the headphones in an environment where 6 channel audio is supported, in order to have all channels playing true surround sound.

  • Check your application settings. Some games or DVD playback software require you to select the 5.1 sound from within their software, otherwise it will play as stereo. Also, some software requires you to purchase the additional functionality for 5.1 sound. Check your application to make sure it supports 5.1.
  • Check your microphone volume. If you get a lot of feedback or extra noise while using the AXPC, or if others tell you they get feedback or noise from you while you use the microphone, check the microphone settings. Adjust this to a level where the volume reduces the noise. If you are not using the microphone, check the "mute" box in the microphone settings.
  • I'm using a Mac, and I setup the audio correctly under /Applications/Utilities/Sound and Midi configuration, however when I play movies, I only hear two channels. Apple's DVD player does not support multichannel output, you will have to find an alternative player, such as Videolan or wait for OS X Leopard, which will have support Dolby Output for movies
