When you try to use a 4x media or higher with the TRI-034 or TRI-036 DVD Drives, you may receive an error that the media is not recognized.

 

 

The shipping models of the TRI-034 and TRI-036 only supported 2.4x media only.

TRITTON does not provide or manufacture the firmware for this drive. The above models use a Richoh RW1525A model for the DVD drive inside the enclosure.

 

 

If your DVD Drive is no longer under warranty, you can replace the internal DVD drive with a newer model that supports the newer media and read/write speeds.

You can also do a Internet search for Richoh RW1525A firmware. This will only allow you to use the higher media but not write at those speeds.

NOTE: TRITTON does not support updating the drives firmware. Doing so may result in the drive becoming damaged and unusable. Update the firmware at your own risk.
