No Sound from the Speakers....

  • Does Windows or Mac OS require drivers installed?
  • No. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X will automatically detect the Sound Bite. If you get no sound from the Sound Bite, you may have to manually select the system to use "USB Audio Device" under your system sound settings.
  • Do I have to install the software on the CD?
  • No. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X will automatically detect the Sound Bite. The software is an advanced configuration tool that allows you set virtual 5.1 sound settings, effects, loudness, equilizer settings, and more. You can get even a greater listening experience with the software, though it is not required nor available on the Mac OS.
  • Does the Sound Bite require a power cable?
  • No. The Sound Bite runs off the USB bus and requires no external power adapter.

  • Stop any audio playback first. You must stop all audio playback before attaching or detaching the Sound Bite. Because Windows is using the audio device drivers for that application, a sudden change can result in an application or system error. Stop all playback, and then attach or detach the Sound Bite.
  • Check your system sound device settings. Sometimes Windows and the Mac OS will not automatically switch over to use the USB Audio device. You can change these settings in the Windows Control Panel or the Mac OS System Preferences.
  • Check your volume settings. Check to make sure your volume settings are turned up (or down if too loud). Check the overall volume setting, and in Windows make sure to check the WAVE sound settings.
